Group Participation Terms and Conditions—Please Read

Eligibility
Participants must be 18 years of age or older and legally able to consent to these terms.

Community Standards
Our groups are anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-ageist, gender-affirming, sexuality-affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming spaces. We ask all participants to engage respectfully, recognizing that differing identities, experiences, beliefs, and viewpoints may be present. We reserve the right to remove any participant who is disruptive or violates these standards at any time, without refund.

Nature of the Group
This is a peer support group. It is not group therapy, clinical treatment, or group coaching. The purpose is to connect with others around shared experiences of giftedness. Therapists, coaches, and other providers are welcome to register and attend these groups in a personal (i.e., non-professional) capacity.

Participants are not prescreened and are admitted solely based on self-identification as gifted. All gifted identifying individuals are welcome, including those who are twice-exceptional. Please let us know if you require any accommodations to participate in the group.

Refund and Attendance Policy
To maintain group cohesion, we do not allow new participants to register after a group has already begun, and no refunds will be provided. Please let us know in advance, if possible, if you plan to miss a session or need to arrive late/leave early.

Confidentiality and Safety
Facilitators will maintain confidentiality to the extent possible. However, confidentiality among group members cannot be guaranteed. Recording of any kind is strictly prohibited, though we will provide an aggregated, anonymized summary of notes after each session.

If we believe a participant poses a risk to themselves or others, we reserve the right to contact emergency services and/or the participant’s designated emergency contact. By participating, you consent to this action if safety concerns arise.

Facilitator Credentials
Facilitators are trained SENG facilitators with additional independent training and professional credentials; however, these groups are offered independently and are not official SENG programs.

Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina. Any disputes must first be resolved through arbitration prior to pursuing other legal remedies.
